The Basement Self Solve Driveway / Garage Floor Sealer is a deep penetrating sealer that provides a barrier against water penetration, moisture, staining, deterioration and minor household spills. This non-slick sealer creates a barrier against water absorbing into the concrete and will protect the concrete from spalling, which is when chunks of concrete break away from the concrete structure. Moisture will not be absorbed and water will bead up rather than soak into the concrete. It penetrates the concrete substrate and chemically bonds itself. Our sealer is long lasting and can be reapplied with ease.

In-Depth Description:

Basement Self Solve Exterior Sealer is a silane/siloxane emulsion that acts a water repellent treatment for mineral substrates such as stone, brick, concrete and mortar.  Basement Self Solve Exterior Sealer penetrates and provides water repellency by chemically reacting with the substrate.  The active ingredients in this product are small molecules that penetrate deep into the substrate surface.  After the emulsion breaks, these active ingredients react with moisture to produce hydroxyl groups.  These hydroxyl groups bind with the substrate and each other to produce a hydrophobic treatment that inhibits water absorption into the substrate.  This treatment does not change the appearance of the substrate and reduces spalling due to freeze-thaw and efflorescence, thereby increasing the life of the substrate.

Basement Self Solve Driveway / Garage Floor Sealer: Uses / Coverage

The Basement Self Solve Driveway / Garage Floor Sealer is made to work on anything concrete such as driveways, garage floors, concrete walkways and sidewalks. If you have issues like spalling, a chalky surface or an inferior concrete pour then this product is for you. This gallon of sealer needs to be mixed with four gallons of warm water. Once mixed, the sealer can cover approx. 1,200 square feet. The 1,200 square foot coverage is dependent upon how porous the surface area is. Typically, newer concrete (10-15 years old) is less porous (which means it absorbes less), so you will require less.

The sealer should only be applied to virgin concrete that has not been painted or chemically treated with any other product. If the forecast predicts rain within at least 12 hours then wait to apply. Do not apply if temperature is below 40 degrees. It cannot be applied if it has a chance to freeze. Do not apply to freshly poured concrete. Allow it to cure for 28 days.

Basement Self Solve Driveway / Garage Floor Sealer: Concentrated Form

The Basement Driveway / Garage Floor Sealer is sold in concentrated form. Mixing the sealer with warm water allows for an easy application. Buying the sealer in a concentrated form gives you an advantage over pre-mixed sealers because you are able to use warm water which will help to open up the capillaries of the concrete.

Product Comparison

Our competitor’s products do not strengthen and do not get into the pores and capillaries. Our competitor’s also sell their product in non-concentrated form which means 2 things. First, our competitor’s gallon contains 20% product and 80% water. Ours is 100% product. Second, since theirs is already mixed you do not have the ability to use warm water which is what helps open up the capillaries of the concrete.

Instructions:

Stir before use. The substrate surface must be completely dry.  Allow 24 hours of dry time before application.  Application temperatures are between 40 Fand 100F.  Do not apply if rain is expected in 24 hours.  Do not apply in high winds.  Cover and protect all glass, metal and vegetation from overspray.

Apply a single application of Basement Self Solve Exterior Sealer with low pressure spray equipment, roller or brush.  Use a fan spray nozzle for greatest efficiency.  On vertical surfaces apply the material starting at the bottom of the wall.  Work your way up the wall so that Basement Self Solve Exterior Sealer will run down the surface 6 inches below the spray pattern.  For porous vertical applications, apply a second application while the first is still wet.  On horizontal surfaces, Basement Self Solve Exterior Sealer should be applied to completely flood the surface.  Coverage rate will average 125 sq.ft. /gal.  Spread puddles with a brush or broom.  Keep traffic off of the surface for 1-4 hours or until the surface is dry.
